Tropos 6420-XA mesh routers are introduced to “advance oilfield networking.”
The outdoor broadband oil well pad communications hub is for all cycle phases from lease to production. With it you can own a single wireless network for all communications needs throughout a well’s pad life cycle, notes the manufacturer.
Communication networks based on Tropos 6420-XA reduce operational expenses, help maximize oil production efficiency, enhance environmental and worker safety, plus support high resolution data for improved operational business and decision making, it’s declared.
Offered to eliminate the need to procure communication services, the mesh router also integrates traditional communications devices including serial masters, wireless I/O devices, and narrowband SCADA radios – into a modern wireless communication netowrk.
The mesh router’s 802.11 wireless and 10/100/1000BASE-T wired interfaces provide connectivity for well pad equipment. Its serial interfaces support connections to legacy equipment. Models utilize capabilities of the 802.11a/b/g/n family of wireless standards to deliver 600 Mbps total wireless data rate, 300 Mbps at 2.4 GHz, and another 3200 Mbps at 5 GHz.
